Liverpool are working on a massive summer transfer window as they look to build on their Premier League title triumph by defending their crown next season.
Arne Slot is wasting no time at all in building the team of his dreams after lifting the title in his first season in England. Not only has he managed to hold onto Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk but the Dutch manager has already made his first signing of the summer.
Jeremie Frimpong is officially a Liverpool player and is the replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold after the scouser swapped Merseyside for Madrid much to the chagrin of supporters.
But Liverpool are not stopping there as they are currently working on deals to sign Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.
What are Liverpool’s plans for the summer transfer window?
Sky Sports have released a report on what every team in the Premier League is trying to accomplish in the 2025 summer transfer window with Liverpool, in particular, expected to do a lot of business.
They report: “Liverpool are also looking to build on their title success with some considerable expenditure. A lot of that is set to be on Florian Wirtz, who they made a huge £105m offer for late last week.
“His Bayer Leverkusen team-mate Jeremie Frimpong is the first arrival, confirmed to have signed for £29.5m.
“Liverpool also want to sign a striker and are looking at some of the same collection of names as the other big clubs, including Alexander Isak, Benjamin Sesko, Victor Osimhen and Hugo Ekitike.
“Another priority is signing a left-back to share the load with and eventually succeed Andy Robertson. They want Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.
Of less-pressing need but also in their plans are a new young centre-back and a defensive midfielder.
Other signings will depend on outgoings, with some interest in Luis Diaz and Bayern Munich keen on Cody Gakpo.
Harvey Elliott has had interest since January from Brighton and clubs in Germany.”
Arne Slot could win the Premier League again if he signs his top targets
While Arsenal and Manchester City are also set to spend big, Liverpool have the advantage of having a world class squad already assembled with only minor squads technically needed.
Signing Wirtz will lay down a serious marker for Liverpool as they get ready to hold onto their Premier League title.
But if Liverpool can sign all their preferred targets and sell the right players, Slot should be able to win the league again. Wouldn’t that be something?
