Bears' worst trade of last decade is the franchise-altering move everyone remembers

At this point, I'd argue that the worst part of the Bears' 2017 Draft trade is, almost 10 years later, that we're still talking about it. The decision to take Mitch Trubisky over Patrick Mahomes has been one of the more impactful choices made in the last few decades in Chicago, and as long as Mahomes continues to solidify himself as one of the all-time great QBs in NFL history, Bears fans are going to have to revisit that draft.

The latest example? A [piece of Bleacher Report content](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/25198854-every-nfl-teams-worst-trade-last-10-years) that will enrage Bears fans within the first 10 words. B/R took a look at the last deacde of NFL trades and compiled a list of the absolute worst ones; if you can believe it, the Bears' decision to trade up for Mitch Trubisky did, in fact, make the list. Here's some of their argument, as if you need it.

The Mitch Trubisky trade is aging even worse than Bears fans realize

--------------------------------------------------------------------

"... when Chicago called looking to move up from No. 3, San Francisco jumped at the chance to add more draft capital. The Bears ended up dealing 2017 third- and fourth-rounders and a 2018 third-round pick to move up one spot for a player San Francisco had no intention of taking. Like several other teams, the Bears could have taken Patrick Mahomes instead—he went 10th overall to Kansas City—though Mahomes may never have become what he is outside of Kansas City. Trubisky was a Pro Bowl alternate in 2018 but lasted just four years in Chicago before the Bears let him walk in free agency."

It feels like a kinda pointless exercise in offseason content, but I appreciate that they pointed out that Mahomes probably wouldn't be anywhere close to the QB he is now if he wasn't drafted to Kansas City; that part of the equation still goes underdiscussed. Also, respect to Bleacher Report for finding a way to mention that Trubisky has made a Pro Bowl. People don't forget.

The Mitch Trubisky Trade: still a disaster. Water: still wet.
