Matej Kovar up for sale under Erik ten Hag
Bayer Leverkusen have appointed Erik ten Hag as their new boss, handing the Dutchman a return to management.
This is a huge summer of change for Leverkusen, with Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Jonathan Tah all following Xabi Alonso out of the club.
Ten Hag can put his own stamp on Leverkusen and Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken is poised to join the club.

That deal looks set to impact former United stopper Matej Kovar, with Kicker claiming that the Czech goalkeeper is now ‘up for sale’.
United sold Kovar to Bayer Leverkusen for £7.7million in 2023, allowing him to leave on a permanent basis after a loan spell with Sparta Prague.
Kovar was signed as developmental competition for Lukas Hradecky but Flekken’s arrival pushes him down the pecking order.
Kovar suffered a nightmare against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, committing a terrible error as Leverkusen crashed out.
Leverkusen seemingly intend to sell Kovar, with Ten Hag poised to let him go for the second time in just two years.
It was Ten Hag who oversaw Kovar’s United departure in 2023, and his situation this summer may now be a case of history repeating itself.
Manchester United hold Matej Kovar buyback clause
United will pay close attention to Kovar’s situation given the clauses in his deal.
United hold a buy-back clause on Kovar as well as a first option, meaning he could return to Old Trafford.
That sounds unlikely, but the need for a new backup goalkeeper to replace Bayindir at least puts Kovar into the conversation.
United will also have a sell-on clause on Kovar, so could take a slice of any sale Leverkusen agree.
The move to Germany hasn’t quite worked out for Kovar, and the 25-year-old could be set for another fresh start this summer.
