Barcelona appear to be closing in on an agreement for Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, with the latest reports claiming a deal is close.
According to RAC1, the transfer is “about to be completed” and Barca “will not pressure” Marc-Andre ter Stegen into leaving.
There’s a similar report from Jijantes, with the report stating Garcia “is one step away from signing with Barça” and “that he will NOT go out on loan.
Garcia therefore seems like he’s set to arrive in a deal worth €25 million and will have to battle Ter Stegen for the No. 1 jersey.
The Germany international has already said he knows he will be at the club next season when quizzed on speculation about a possible transfer for Garcia.
Barca may also have Wojciech Szczęsny on the books, too. The Poland international has reportedly already said yes to a contract extension and is expected to continue.
