FC Barcelona have been relatively quiet in terms of their ongoing operations in the summer transfer window. Following their strong season, one in which they won a domestic treble, many expected La Blaugrana to be bold this summer. Instead, Barcelona seem to be taking their time with various operations.
In terms of player renewals, the club moved fast and secured the services of some key players. The latest star to commit himself to Barcelona was Lamine Yamal, who has already signed a new deal to keep him with the Catalan giants until 2031.
Barcelona seem to be taking their time
As for transfers and signings, however, most of the attention was being paid to Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia. With Barcelona reportedly focused on securing his services, Fabrizio Romano’s update about the deal being advanced was great news, and Deco’s words regarding signings further helped the credibility of that news as well.
Since then, however, there has not been a lot of chatter on that front. It seemed as if the process was taking its time and fans were eagerly awaiting any update from a reliable source in order to assess where the deal currently stands.
Joan Garcia’s signing is almost complete
Fortunately, Romano has himself confirmed some great news for Barcelona. As per the Italian journalist’s most recent update, the negotiations are now at the final stages and the 24-year-old goalkeeper is on the verge of joining La Blaugrana.

The agreement between all involved parties is now very close to being sealed. Moreover, Barcelona are now simply preparing the documents and are ready to pay the €25 million release clause for the player to Espanyol for his services.
Furthermore, Romano has even confirmed that his iconic ‘here we go’ tag is now almost there. By confirming this, the Italian journalist is essentially suggesting that the deal is more or less closed by now and it is only a matter of time before Joan Garcia is confirmed as a new Barcelona signing.
