GREEN BAY, Wis. - Former Arizona running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt was selected in the seventh round (245 overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders.

Croskey-Merritt was selected in the seventh round (245 overall) by the Washington Commanders. He becomes the first Arizona running back selected in the draft since Gary Brightwell was picked in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the New York Giants (196 overall).

With the selection of Croskey-Merritt in the draft, Arizona has had four players picked marking the most since 2008 when Antoine Cason (1st Rd, San Diego), Spencer Larsen (6th Rd, Denver), Wilrey Fontenot (7th Rd, Atlanta), and Lionel Dotson (7th Rd, Miami) were selected.

He is the 11th Wildcat to be selected by Washington in the NFL Draft all time. Croskey-Merritt is the first Wildcat since Kili Lefotu (7th round, 230 overall) in 2006 to be selected by Washington.

Croskey-Merritt joined the Wildcats from New Mexico before the 2024 season, appearing in one game and rushing for 106 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries against his former team New Mexico, on Aug. 31.

The Montgomery, Alabama, native rushed for 1,296 yards and 18 touchdowns in his FBS career. For his entire collegiate career, including his time at Alabama State in FCS, he rushed for 2,538 yards and 31 total touchdowns.
