Manchester United have been working on the summer transfer window for some time and could still have a busy few months ahead of them.

The summer window opened on Sunday, which gives United an initial period of 10 days to get a head start on their transfer business ahead of next season. After the first deadline on June 10 ahead of the Club World Cup, the transfer window will reopen on June 16 and remain so until deadline day on September 1.

Between now and then, United could be rather busy on the transfer front. Both in terms of new signings as well as potential outgoings.

One deal has already been completed with Matheus Cunha arriving from Wolves. The Brazilian had a £62.5million release clause in his contract at Molineux, which United swiftly activated to get their transfer business for the summer underway.

It was back in January, though, that United reached an agreement for another transfer to be formally completed this summer. United agreed to sign Diego Leon on a permanent deal from Cerro Porteno in Paraguay.

United are understood to have agreed a deal worth a total £7million for the left-back, which includes an initial fee worth £3.3million. Leon will officially become a United player in July after the club agreed to sign the 18-year-old on a pre-contract agreement.

Before news of the transfer was confirmed, Leon was spotted in Manchester in January when he arrived for a medical at Carrington. He was spotted posing for photos at United's training base alongside Lisandro Martinez and Alejandro Garnachi.

Leon will now link up with the United squad this summer to prepare for the 2025/26 under head coach Ruben Amorim. The arrival of the teenager will see United have Patrick Dorgu, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia as their left-back options.
