Federico Chiesa has finally lifted the lid on his Juventus departure — and he’s made it clear it wasn’t about money, ego, or playing time. It was simply this: the new boss didn’t want him.
The Italian winger, now a Liverpool player, revealed that his time at Juventus ended not by choice, but by exclusion. “Thiago Motta didn’t want me there. He told me that I was not part of his plans, and should go find a team,” Chiesa told Gazzetta dello Sport.

It wasn’t how fans expected this chapter to end. Chiesa had grown into one of the club’s most electric talents.
But in Turin, even top players can be subbed off by strategy — or in this case, by a coach looking to build a new eleven.

Federico Chiesa on rumours of demanding more money
For months, rumours swirled around Chiesa’s contract talks. Reports claimed he asked for more money. Some said Juventus just didn’t want to meet his salary demands. But Chiesa strongly pushed back.
“I have never received any renewal offer from Juventus,” he wrote in a farewell post to fans. “And, consequently, there has never been a request from me or my entourage regarding an increase or reduction in my salary.”
So much for those transfer gossip headlines.
Chiesa made it clear his hand was forced. Before he even stepped on the training pitch, he was told he wasn’t in the club’s plans. His bags were packed before his boots hit the grass.
Now, he’s wearing red — not black and white — after Liverpool signed him for a modest £12.5 million. While he hasn’t set Anfield on fire just yet, fans are hoping his next chapter will see more minutes and fewer mixed signals.
Although he is linked to yet another exit, with AS reporting Atletico Madrid’s interest in the Italian.
