Rayan Ait-Nouri Slips Through Utd’s Grasp as City Close In

Manchester United have missed out on Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri, with the player now expected to join rivals Manchester City.

City Lead the Race as Rayan Ait-Nouri Nears Wolves Exit

**Manchester United**‘s chances of signing Rayan Ait-Nouri has taken a big blow. Reportedly, Man City are now ramping up their pursuit of the Wolves star. Pep Guardiola made it clear this summer that signing a new left-back is a top priority. Ait-Nouri has quickly become Guardiola’s number one target.

Manchester City are pursuing a deal to sign Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves.

According to The Athletic, City have not finalized the deal just yet. But, things are pointing in the right direction and a move from City is just a matter of time. Meanwhile, Wolves want to get around £45 million for the Algerian international. He had a good season with four goals and seven assists in the Premier League.

The Red Devils were interested and may make plays on Ait-Nouri. But, now Guardiola’s side are showing quick urgency to move forward in a deal. Wolves have recently banked £62.5 million from Matheus Cunha’s move to Old Trafford. They are not in any rush to sell on the cheap.

Utd Turn Focus Elsewhere After Missing Target

Ait-Nouri’s likely move to the blue side of Manchester leaves Utd searching for other options. Ruben Amorim is said to be eager to add depth on the left flank. Although, they already have Patrick Dorgu in that role. He was signed in the January transfer window.

One name doing the rounds is Brighton’s Pervis Estupinan. Though talks are still in the rumour stage. Utd still have time to assess and make the right call. Meanwhile, Wolves are expected to cash in well on Ait-Nouri. That is especially if they choose to buy out a sell-on clause held by French club Angers. That smart move would let them keep more of the profit from the transfer.

For Red Devils’ fans, this one stings. But, there’s plenty of the summer still ahead.
