Man Utd boost as Fernandes makes decision on £100m Al-Hilal transfer

[Bruno Fernandes](/topic/bruno-fernandes) has rejected a big-money transfer to Saudi Arabia.

Al-Hilal had been increasingly confident of signing a deal for Fernandes after positive talks over the [Manchester United](/topic/manchester-united) captain.

The Saudi Arabian champions were prepared to pay a £100million transfer fee and then pay Fernandes £1m a week, and the midfielder was in line to earn up to £200m from the move.

Al-Hilal have been looking to take advantage of United’s financial problems and wanted to wrap up a deal before the start of the Club World Cup.

But Fernandes has rejected the chance to move to Saudi Arabia.

The 30-year-old has made it clear he wants to continue playing at the top level in Europe.

Fernandes now looks set to stay at Manchester United, in what is a major boost to Ruben Amorim ahead of next season.
