It’s building up to be another summer of huge change at Wolves as Vitor Pereira prepares for a complete overhaul at Molineux.
On Sunday, Matheus Cunha’s move to Manchester United was finally confirmed, and now, Rayan Ait-Nouri wants to join Manchester City, with his swift exit expected to follow.
Wolves could be in real trouble in 2025/26 if they fail to replace two of their most important players, who contributed 32 goals between them in the Premier League last term.

Rayan Ait-Nouri 37 4 7
Matheus Cunha 33 15 6
Vitor Pereira also has the small matter of potentially finding a replacement for his captain. Nelson Semedo is set to leave Wolves once his contract expires in a couple of weeks, leaving a huge void that needs filling.
Luckily, one emerging target will be music to the ears of Jorgen Strand Larsen, with one key attribute explaining why.

Trai Hume’s crossing will be a dream for Jorgen Strand Larsen
Molineux Newsreported back in May that Wolves were eyeing Sunderland’s Trai Hume, and further links have now followed that initial report.
As revealed by Sky Sports News on Monday, Wolves’ interest in Hume is concrete, and the likes of Everton and La Liga clubs join them in the race for his signature.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a fantastic campaign in the Championship for the Black Cats, who achieved promotion to the Premier League by beating Sheffield United in the play-off final.

Hume amassed an impressive nine goal involvements in 48 appearances last term, but it was his crossing that was the standout attribute.
As highlighted by FBref, the Northern Ireland international ranked in the top 7% of Championship full-backs for progressive passes, the top 7% for passes into the final third, and crucially, the top 13% for crosses into the penalty area.
In 2024/25, forward Strand Larsen was often starved of service into the box, but Hume has shown he can produce some wicked deliveries, suggesting he’d be the perfect match for the Norwegian.
What Regis Le Bris has said about Hume
Hume has been valued at £20 million previously, and with Sunderland now returning to the big time, that valuation could easily increase.
But if Wolves were able to snap him up from the Stadium of Light, he would bring an excellent set-piece delivery, something they will now miss in the absence of Cunha and Pablo Sarabia.
Speaking about the defender in April, manager Regis Le Bris said via BBC Sport: “When you have a left-back score, it’s very positive for the team.
“For the last two games, Trai has been really important, and for the next fixture, other players will be able to score.”
“He’s really well balanced and if he can add this ability to his game, it changes his profile towards the next level, Trai is a warrior – even if he has an injury he wants to play.”
Hume is certainly someone who would flourish in the wing-back role under Pereira, and hopefully, Wolves can agree a deal.
