Everton have been linked with a move for Rangers midfield ace Mohamed Diomande this summer.
The Toffees are eager to bring fresh talent into the squad, with several older players expected to leave the club upon the expiry of their contracts this summer.
One player who will be leaving is Abdoulaye Doucoure, the 32-year-old has confirmed that he will not extend his contract with Everton and is now looking for a new club ahead of the new season.
David Moyes needs to replace Doucoure, and reports have linked the Toffees with a move for Rangers’ young and talented midfielder Mohamed Diomande. At just 23, Diomande has made a good impression on himself in Scotland, attracting interest from several Premier League teams.
Diomande to Everton is the most likely outcome at the moment, according to reports, but fresh transfer news has now shared what Rangers are thinking about their midfielder’s future this summer.

Everton won’t sign Mohamed Diomande for cheap
The Friedkin Group will back Everton this summer, and it now looks like they will have to fork out substantial funds to land Diomande this summer.
Diomande, who only joined Rangers from FC Nordsjaelland last summer, cost them £4.3m. He is now expected to cost a lot more.
According to TeamTalk, Rangers are in no rush to sell Diomande this summer and are determined to maximise profit on their investment. When Everton come calling, they will not be quoted a small transfer fee.

The report adds that Rangers will demand a substantial fee for the “standout” star and are expecting a sizable return on him.
Any deal will be put on hold while Rangers appoint a new manager. The likes of Davide Ancelotti and Russell Martin are believed to be frontrunners for the role, so it will be down to them to determine Diomande’s future.
How Mohamed Diomande feels about Everton interest
A new midfielder is one of Moyes’ priorities this summer. It is clear the 62-year-old wants more quality in that position.
Everton are interested in Brighton’s Matt O’Riley, who was sensational at Celtic but has yet to show his quality since moving to the Premier League.
Upon hearing the news, Everton fans are desperate to sign O’Riley, believing he is the right person to replace Doucoure.
From the same TeamTalk report, Diomande is believed to be keen to learn what his role for the 2025/26 season will be before committing to a move. After an impressive first season in Scotland, he will undoubtedly want more game time.
Moyes now has a choice to make over which midfielder he wants to go all in for: O’Riley or Diomande.
