Report: Club now place 'outstanding' £30m English midfielder on the transfer list amid Wolves…

Wolves are looking to strengthen this summer, and one target looks like he could soon be on the way out.

Vitor Pereira did a terrific job in the second half of the 2024/25 season.

After Wanderers made an atrocious start under Gary O’Neil, Pereira came in in December and completely changed the picture at Molineux, and fans have real optimism about the future.

That optimism has taken a slight hit though over the last couple of days, with Matheus Cunha being sold to Manchester United and Pablo Sarabia leaving as a free agent.

There is also heavy speculation that Manchester City will sign Rayan Ait-Nouri.

It is vital for Wolves to have a strong summer, and potentially, Wolves have now received encouragement to make an approach for one midfield target.

Midfield is a very strong area of Wolves’ team.

Andre and Joao Gomes have been developing into a fine pairing, and are pretty much undroppable for Pereira.

But Wolves could lose Tommy Doyle this summer, and Boubacar Traore could also be a loan exit. Wolves are in the market for a new central midfielder.

MORE WOLVES STORIES

It was recently suggested Wolves were a team to watch for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall of Chelsea, and Wolves seemingly now have the invitation to swoop.

Because according to the Mirror, Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea are putting 14 players up for sale this summer – and the former Leicester City man is on their transfer list.

Dewsbury-Hall is more of a Vitor Pereira player than Tommy Doyle

It remains to be seen if Wolves will make a push for Dewsbury-Hall this summer.

But potentially, he is more of a Vitor Pereira kind of player than Doyle, who is expected to depart.

Dewsbury-Hall is a true box-to-box midfielder, and someone who is good both in offensive and defensive phases of the game.

According to a Premier League feature a few years ago when he was at Leicester: “Leicester’s manager places high physical demands on his players in and out of possession, meaning the tireless Dewsbury-Hall is an ideal fit.

“His stamina is simply outstanding. Indeed, he is covering 1km more than any teammate on average this term.”

Dewsbury-Hall – who Chelsea signed for £30 million (Sky Sports) – is also left-footed, which could be nice for Wolves in terms of balance – currently, Pereira has no left-footed central midfield options at his disposal.
