£50M Rated Winger 'Has Made Chelsea His No.1 Choice' After Deciding Against Leaving England

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has decided that he wants to join Chelsea, according to reports.

It had been suggested that the Argentinian international wanted to leave England and move abroad to Napoli or his former team Atletico Madrid. However, English tabloid The Sun claim that he “has made Chelsea his no.1 choice”.

A source told the newspaper that Garnacho believes a move to Stamford Bridge would align with his own personal goals:

“Alejandro knows the Premier League is the best in the world and while he has had some good moments at United, he wants to establish himself as a world star.”

“England is the best place to do that and Chelsea have assembled a lot of good young players.”

United are expected to lower Garnacho’s asking price

When Chelsea made enquiries for the 20-year-old during the January transfer window, it was reported that his club wanted as much as £60m.

However, Garnacho’s public falling out with head coach Ruben Amorim means that the Red Devils could sell him for £50m or even less this summer.

Chelsea are considering moves for other wingers

While Garnacho seems to have his heart set on a switch to London, the Blues have other ideas. They are weighing up several different options at the moment.

Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens is also on the club’s radar but he is expected to cost more than Garnacho so that deal will be difficult to secure.

Alternatives include the likes of Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers. However, again, the trio all have high valuations.

While Rodrygo’s price could be as much as £84m, Eze’s release clause is reportedly £68m, while Villa are expected to demand between £85m and £90m for Rogers. It means Garnacho is the most realistic target.
