The 2025 summer transfer window is set to be a busy one at Man City.
The Manchester club are coming off the back of a tough domestic season in which they went the entire campaign without a trophy, which is something Pep Guardiola will not want to experience again, having won four Premier League titles in a row in the years prior.
Midfield is the main focus of the rebuild at the Etihad with Man City closing in on Tijjani Reijnders, while the Premier League club are also working on a deal for Ryan Cherki of Lyon.
Once both those stars have been acquired before the FIFA Club World Cup begins, City’s focus will turn to their full-back positions, where a £40m Premier League star is the ‘dream target’ of Guardiola.

Tino Livramento is Man City’s dream target to replace Kyle Walker
AC Milan have decided not to sign Kyle Walker this summer from Man City; however, the right-back is still expected to leave the Etihad Stadium after eight years in Manchester.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle’s Tino Livramento is Guardiola’s ‘dream target’ to replace the 35-year-old, but a deal will be tough to get done.

“Then the full-backs. At right-back, the dream target is Tino Livramento from Newcastle,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.
“They (Man City) are waiting to see if they can find a way with Newcastle because they are now stronger with their position in the negotiations after reaching Champions League football.”
Eddie Howe has been a big fan of Livramento since the full-back joined from Southampton during the summer of 2023 as part of a £40m deal, with the 22-year-old now a starter at St James’ Park.
With Champions League football on Tyneside next season, the Magpies will not want to lose any of their top stars, which could force Man City to move for Flamengo’s Wesley, who is an alternative to Livramento.

Rayan Ait-Nouri has said yes to Man City move
In addition to a right-back, Man City are also interested in bringing in a new left-back, with Guardiola keen on Wolves’ Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Romano has stated that the 23-year-old has already said yes to the move and that the full-back has informed Wolves of his wish to move to the Etihad Stadium.

“Ait-Nouri has already said yes to Manchester City. He wants to go to Man City,” Romano said on his YouTube channel. “He signed with new agents recently, and he’s really tempted by this possibility of working with Pep Guardiola, moving to City, Champions League football, so he wants to go.
“He’s been clear with Wolves about that. Now, club-to-club negotiations to advance in the next days, to try to find a solution, but Ait-Nouri he’s the target at left back for Manchester City.”
City are set to look very different next season, and if the Manchester club can land both of their top full-back targets, their forwards will be very happy, as both have the ability to provide for the front men in their teams.
