Liverpool’s Luis Díaz is ‘seduced’ by the possibility of joining Barcelona this summer.
That’s on the frontpage of today’s Mundo Deportivo, with ‘offensive for Luis Díaz’ written in bold. It’s also mentioned that he has ‘already taken steps’ to leave the Reds for the La Liga winners.
Within the report, it’s pointed out the Liverpool star is the priority target for Barcelona to improve their attack.
The Colombia international is ahead of Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Athletic’s Nico Williams. He’s well aware of this and is ‘already fighting to force his departure’ from Anfield to move to Barcelona.
Díaz has already taken first steps to get out of the Merseyside club in this window. He has blocked renewal talks as he doesn’t want to sign an extension.
His contract is until 2027 and the forward’s agent has informed Liverpool that he wants to leave them for Barca. In addition to this, he has rejected a lucrative offer from Al-Nassr.
Without a renewal, Mundo believe the English champions could be forced to sell him this summer, especially since they are working on signing Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz for over €100m.
Díaz is determined to join Barcelona, who are also keen on securing his services. He has informed Liverpool, via his agent, and has already taken steps to arrive at the Camp Nou.
The Spanish giants now have to find an agreement with Arne Slot’s side to conclude the operation.
