West Ham Excusive: Toon Join Hunt For Unwanted Hammer

West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek is said to be slipping out of contention for a move to Everton, according to a top transfer source.

Claret & Hugh has spoken with an insider with a top transfer insider, who has indicated that there are multiple offers on the table for Soucek.

We were told late last night: “Leeds United still want him, but Soucek moving to Everton is not a certainty.”

The source continued: “Soucek will remain in the UK, but there is a surprise Champions League club who are very interested.”

Soucek has attracted a lot of transfer interest

The mystery club could possibly be Newcastle United, although no further precise details were given. Magpies boss Eddie Howe is believed to be an admirer — though that could also be said for David Moyes and Daniel Farke.

What is clear, however, is that Soucek is not wanted by West Ham manager Graham Potter, who is happy to sell the midfielder. This approach has raised concerns among some at the London Stadium, who would rather keep the 30-year-old Czech at the club.

That said, nobody seems keen enough to retain Soucek to offer the goalscoring midfielder a new contract — and it now seems he has three big options on the table.

At this stage, it’s highly unlikely that Big Sou — who scored nine Premier League goals this season — will remain in East London for much longer.
