As well as being a historic event - the first boxing show ever held at Portman Road - it's also a mouth-watering fight between two of the best young heavyweights on the planet.
And Wardley, 30, acknowledged there's a huge week ahead of him.

“So yeah, I’m really looking forward to getting the week going and getting stuck in.”
As part of the build up to a big bout like this, the hype kicks off days in advance. Starting today, there will be events and media responsibilities every day, culminating with the weigh-ins on Friday at the Ipswich Town Hall - which are free for the public to attend (12.30pm doors, 1pm start).

While promoting the fight is clearly part of the job, Wardley says that you have to be sensible in terms of not burning out.
“It’s just managing your energy, knowing that this is a big part of the job," he said of fight week.
"Everyone thinks it’s just turn up, have a fight and go home, but there’s a lot more that goes into it!
“This is a big part of it, but you also have to realise that you need to save some energy, save a bit of yourself, for the actual night itself.
“That’s something you learn over time. I’ve been privileged to have been part of big events and big shows in the past, where there’s been a lot requested of me, and learning how to manage that, yourself your time, your energy, your emotions over the last few years has all built me to a place where I’m ready and put together for this kind of event.”

When it's all said and done, former British champion Wardley will be able to add another remarkable chapter to his already extraordinary legacy - while moving a step closer to a world title fight.
For now though, he's just focused on the job in hand.

“At least until after the fight is done and the job is ticked off, mission is accomplished, then I can give myself a little pat on the back, a little bit of credit and look at myself like ‘ok, you’ve done pretty well there.’
“But it doesn’t take away from this being a huge event and something that I’m extremely proud of being able to pull off.
“My name is the name associated with it and the name that’s pulled it all together.
“On so many different levels, this is going to be a fantastic event.”
