“Isn’t for sale” – Brentford sent clear message after club make ‘official’ approach for Bees player

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has mainly utilised Yehor Yarmolyuk as a substitute over the past two seasons. To put it in context, the midfielder played 58 Premier League games, and it includes only 21 starts.

The Ukraine international played 1,776 minutes from 37 games for the Bees this season.

Despite the limited role, the Brentford player has managed to attract interest from Napoli, according to a report from his country.

Journalist Vladimir Zverov Profutbol Digital, relayed by Football 24, about the Serie A winners’ desire to sign the 21-year-old this summer. He reports the Naples club have made an official approach for the young midfielder.

“According to my information, Brentford have been approached by Napoli with an official enquiry. Now they are closely monitoring promising footballers,” he said.

The report states the Premier League club didn’t entertain the Italian champions’ formal approach because they have no plans to sell him. He’s expected to have a better role than this season at Brentford.

“Brentford said that Yarmolyuk isn’t for sale and they consider him as a main squad player next season. Probably, subsequently his transfer value will increase even more,” Zverov explained.

The journalist’s report makes sense considering the London club extended his contract on May 29th. They offered Yarmolyuk a new contract until 2031, with an option for another year.

Transfermarkt currently values him at €15m but Brentford will need much more if they have to even consider selling the Ukrainian.
