Zirkzee drops thrilling reaction on Instagram after Fernandes rejects Saudi transfer

Manchester United star Joshua Zirkzee has made his feelings crystal clear on Instagram following a seismic transfer development.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed this morning that United captain Bruno Fernandes has rejected a mega-money move to Saudi giants Al-Hilal.

The Saudi Pro League outfit were prepared to break the bank, tabling a staggering £100 million bid for United and dangling an eye-watering £700,000-a-week salary in front of Fernandes.

It was understood that the Portuguese maestro was seriously considering the offer but his family was not convinced by the switch to Saudi.

Zirkzee shared an Instagram story featuring a celebratory moment with Fernandes, simply captioned: “Boom.”

That one-word message spoke volumes. Zirkzee is clearly thrilled his captain is staying at Old Trafford.

It would have been a major emotional setback for the Red Devils had Fernandes asked the club to sanction his sale.

United would have gained financially but it would have left a gaping hole in their team.

The 30-year-old is the heartbeat of this side, driving them on and off the field.

Fernandes netted 19 goals and recorded 20 assists in the 2024-25 season to earn his fourth Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award.

Only club legends Cristiano Ronaldo and David de Gea have etched their names into that honour roll four times.

United have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Bryan Mbeumo has given his nod to join the Red Devils, fending off strong interest from rivals Arsenal.

Fernandes’ decision to reject the proposal from Saudi will further lift the mood at Old Trafford.
