Man United are set to add to their squad after already signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
Man United have begun their summer squad rebuild by adding Wolves attacker Matheus Cunha in order to strengthen their attack. They were the fifth-lowest-scoring side in the Premier League last season and so are desperate for more goals.
After the new that midfielder Bruno Fernandes is set to stay at the club, Man United are now accelerating a move for their second summer signing.
Bryan Mbeumo ‘gives approval’ to major Manchester United transfer switch
Mbeumo had a superb season for the Bees this year, scoring 20 goals and providing seven assists in the Premier League, making him the fourth-highest scorer in the league; goals that will be much needed for the Red Devils.
According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg on X: “Manchester United want to start negotiations with Brentford shortly in order to finalise the deal for Bryan Mbeumo. The player has already given his approval. Verbal agreement is done. MUFC are optimistic that the transfer will go through. It would be their second statement signing in attack after Matheus Cunha.”

If they do manage to add Mbeumo to complement Cunha, the pair managed to score a total of 35 goals last season, something that would be invaluable for Amorim heading into next season.
It is not clear yet as to how much United would be willing to offer to sign Mbeumo, but it is understood that Brentford values the winger at around £60m, meaning that United could be in for another expensive summer signing after spending £62.5m on Cunha.
Garnacho sale could fund Mbeumo move
Man United don’t have the best financial security at the moment, and with Profitability and Sustainability Rules looming, the Red Devils will need to sell if they add Mbeumo, and the likely candidate is Alejandro Garnacho.
Furthermore, Aston Villa are said to be keen to sign Garnacho too, alongside Serie A clubs Napoli, AC Milan, Juventus, Inter and Roma. It is understood that several clubs want to sign Garnacho on loan, however, Man United want to sell him permanently. Man United reportedly want at least £43m for Garnacho, meaning that any sale of the 20-year-old could help significantly in funding a move for Mbeumo, and ensuring that United steer clear of the PSR restrictions.
