Chelsea talks with player and club–Impressive replacement plan as Sancho sent back to Manchester United

Last summer, Manchester United allowed Jadon Sancho to join Chelsea on loan with an obligation to buy. The latest claims from the UK have stated the Blues are refusing to buy the winger and will pay a £5m penalty the Red Devils.

Chelsea’s refusal to make the 25-year-old’s stay permanent will force him to return to Manchester United at least for a short period.

Sancho is unlikely to have a future at Manchester United and will have to find a new solution this summer. Chelsea have identified Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens as the target to replace the Manchester United player.

That’s according to Sky Deutschland journalist Patrick Berger, and he took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the latest.

He states the Blues have concrete interest in Gittens, especially after sending Sancho back to Manchester United. Berger adds the UEFA Conference League winners are in talks with both the 20-year-old and the Bundesliga club over a move.

At this moment in time, Enzo Maresca’s side haven’t sent an offer to Borussia Dortmund. The journalist makes no mention of the fee needed for Chelsea to convince BVB to sell Gittens.

The winger’s contract lasts until 2028 and he managed 12 goals and five assists from 48 games this season.
