Jeremie Frimpong’s girlfriend has shared her excitement after her partner's transfer to Liverpool. The Dutch right back is Liverpool’s first signing of the summer after the Premier League champions activated his €35M release clause from German side Bayer Leverkusen.
The 24-year-old will replace Trent Alexander-Arnold in the squad, whose move to Real Madrid has now been confirmed. Frimpong will join his Dutch compatriots Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch in the Reds' squad.
He has made the move to Merseyside with his partner, Tamira Blankson. Tamira joined Frimpong when he flew over to the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby a few weeks ago to complete the deal. She shared pictures from the trip on her Instagram page in what was her first post since making the move to Merseyside.
Tamira shared two pictures from the training centre and one of the couple smiling on the plane over. She captioned the post: “A new chapter begins.”
Frimpong was quick to support his partner. He commented “always” followed by a red love heart emoji. Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen and Liverpool fans alike sent their support. One said: “So excited for you both on your new journey!”
Another said: “Good luck with your new chapter, and it was a pleasure to have you in the Bayer Leverkusen family.” A third person added: “Welcome to Anfield. YNWA.” A fourth said: “So happy for you both.”
Frimpong shared his first snap of the two together on the pitch after Bayer Leverkusen were crowned the 23/24 Bundesliga champions. He captioned the post: "Blessed to live this moment with my family."
Although this was the first post, it is believed the couple have been dating for longer. Frimpong also shared snaps as the couple took a well-earned post-season rest in Mykonos after his triumph.
Tamira recently turned 25 and jetted off to Morocco to mark the occasion. She shared snaps from the celebrations, and Liverpool's new signings took to the comments to wish his partner well on her special day.
He said: "Hope you enjoyed your birthday in Morocco." Tamira is also active on TikTok and boasts over 35,000 followers on the platform.
She was blown away in February when she received an extravagant Valentine's Day gift from Frimpong. She shared a short clip of a house decked out with balloons, candles, and a gigantic love heart made of roses.
She captioned the post: "My jaw was on the floor."
Tamira is seemingly already close friends with Ryan Gravenberch's partner, Cindy Peroti, who should be able to help her settle into her new surroundings.
In a post shared on her Instagram page last week from a night out in London, Cindy took to the comments to praise her friend. She said: "Pretty."
