Manchester United could still get a deal over the line for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, according to reports from Portugal - with the Red Devils having convinced two Premier League stars to join the club despite their lack of European football next season.
Gyokeres is on the shortlist of various English teams this summer, having had the season of his life in the Portuguese capital with an outstanding 54 goals in 52 games in the capital, seeing him named as the 'best striker in the world' at the moment. That has sparked interest from various clubs on the continent, including United, who saw Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee score just seven Premier League goals combined last season.
Report: Man Utd in 'Front Line' to Sign Viktor Gyokeres This Summer
The Red Devils are in dire need of a new striker this summer

The report by Portuguese outlet O Jogo, via ManUtdNews, states that the Red Devils are poised to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window, having had a dismal season in front of goal which saw only Everton and the three relegated sides score less than them in the Premier League last time out.

As a result, Gyokeres has continuously been lined up to make the move to Old Trafford, thanks to his outstanding form for Sporting over the past year, which has seen him dubbed as 'world-class' - and that could see the Red Devils make a move, with O Jogo stating that they are in the 'first line' to sign the Swedish talisman.
They further claim that the Swedish goalscorer is 'certain' to leave Sporting this summer, for a fee of around £59million after his 39-goal campaign in the Primeira Liga.
Although United have failed to qualify for the Champions League thanks to their 15th-placed finish and their loss in the Europa League final, this was initially thought to be a potential deal-breaker in terms of the Gyokeres deal and persuading him to Old Trafford.
But having already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and with Monday evening's news that Bryan Mbeumo's favoured choice is Old Trafford despite interest from Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, there is a glimmer of hope in any potential Gyokeres deal just yet.
Gyokeres was thought to have told Ruben Amorim that he would only join United if they could guarantee Champions League football, but the report further states that Gyokeres' stance could still change.
