Manchester United legend Gary Neville has thrown his weight behind Arsenal, predicting that the north London outfit will finally clinch their first Premier League title since 2004 in the upcoming campaign.

Neville’s confidence in Arsenal’s chances stems from their consistent performances over the last three seasons, where they have emerged as genuine title challengers under the guidance of Mikel Arteta.

During a recent interaction on The Overlap, Neville was asked to provide his 2025-26 Premier League predictions. Without hesitation, he doubled down on his support for Arsenal, stating, “I’ve got to go Arsenal again, I’ve got to double down, haven’t I? He said.

“I’ve gone there the last two seasons and they finished second in the last three seasons, actually. I didn’t back them the first season, I backed Manchester City, but I backed them the last two and I’m going to stick with them.” He added.

Arsenal’s recent performances have certainly warranted Neville’s optimism. Under Arteta, the Gunners have finished second in the Premier League standings for three consecutive seasons, accumulating an impressive 84 points, 89 points, and 74 points in the 2024-25 season.

Although they finished 10 points behind champions Liverpool last season, Neville believes that Arsenal’s momentum and squad dynamics will propel them to the top spot next season.

To help facilitate this feat, the Gunners are reportedly gearing up for a busy summer transfer window, with plans to rejuvenate their squad and strengthen their attacking options.

Arsenal target Martin Zubimendi

One potential signing that has garnered significant attention is Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who is said to be close to joining the club. This move would bolster Arsenal’s midfield and provide Arteta with more options to create a winning formula.

Meanwhile, former Wycombe Wanderers striker Adebayo Akinfenwa has expressed his surprise that Arsenal did not pursue Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap, who has allegedly agreed to join Chelsea for £30 million. Akinfenwa believes that Delap would have been an excellent addition to Arsenal’s attacking lineup, particularly given their need for a clinical finisher.

“I don’t understand how Arsenal didn’t snap him up… when you need a striker and you’re looking at the transfer market, £30 million is chump change in today’s market,” Akinfenwa said on talkSPORT.

Arsenal are also reportedly after Victor Osimhen, Liepzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres this summer.
