Brighton and Hove Albion and Leeds United are both interested in Feyenoord forward Igor Paixão, but face competition from Olympique Marseille.
That’s [according to Algemeen Dagblad](https://www.ad.nl/voetbal/engelse-en-franse-clubs-azen-op-igor-paixao-feyenoord-verlangt-forse-transfersom~a4e3940b/), who report that Brighton and Leeds are ‘explicitly enquiring’ about the Brazilian.
The newspaper states that Feyenoord are insisting that there are no concrete negotiations with anyone as yet but the interest from Brighton and Leeds is ‘confirmed’.
The Dutch side believe that Paixão could be ‘plucked away’ this summer after another impressive season. He’s managed 18 goals and 19 assists in 47 games in all competitions, with two goals and five assists in 11 games in the Champions League.
Feyenoord have no intention of letting their star man depart on the cheap, though. They will demand at least €40m from any suitors for him. As far as they’re concerned, Paixão does not have to leave De Kuip at all and particularly to teams they consider in the ‘sub-top of Europe’.
It seems, then, it is up to Brighton and Leeds to convince them otherwise, perhaps with a concrete, and big opening offer. The Seagulls have already done business with Feyenoord in the last year, signing Mats Wieffer for €30m last summer.
Leeds have also been present at the club in the past too, signing Crysenscio Summerville from them and trying to poach Arne Slot when he was manager as well. Now it appears both are back and focused on Paixão.
