The summer transfer window is officially open, and Arsenal aren’t wasting much time.
It’s a new era for Arsenal on the recruitment front as Andrea Berta has taken charge at the Emirates after Edu resigned from his role earlier this year.
Arsenal are already set to sign Martin Zubimendi, while the Gunners are in the market for a new striker.
Arsenal have toyed with signing a new striker for quite some time now, and according to Ben Jacobs, speaking to TalkSPORT, the Gunners may finally be about to make an official move on this front.
Indeed, according to Jacobs, it now sounds as though Arsenal are about to make an official bid for Benjamin Sesko.
Arsenal have been in talks with Sesko for some time, and now, a move is imminent.

Arsenal about to bid for Benjamin Sesko
Jacobs discussed Arsenal and their interest in Sesko.
Manchester United had been in talks to sign Sesko recently, but now, it looks like Arsenal are going to make a bid for the striker.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are also looking at Viktor Gyokeres.
“I think it looks like they’re going to make a bid for Benjamin Sesko. Although Viktor Gyokeres is also being worked on simultaneously. That is normal because there’s so much competition for strikers,” Jacobs said.
“Nobody can necessarily go all-in on one name, but we’re seeing a domino effect, Liam Delap is going to Chelsea and now Arsenal need to make their move. So much legwork has been done on Benjamin Sesko. He has a variable release clause. At the moment it’s around €80m (£67m), but I think Arsenal would like to try to negotiate something a bit lower.”
Benjamin Sesko Bundesliga stats compared to Kai Havertz
Arsenal look set to move for Sesko, but there’s reason to believe this isn’t the best move for the Gunners.
Indeed, strikers from the Bundesliga have been very hit-and-miss over the years in the Premier League, case in point, Kai Havertz.
Havertz has been criticised on occasion since joining Arsenal, and, interestingly, he has a similar record in the Bundesliga to Sesko
Kai Havertz Benjamin Sesko
118 Games 64
36 Goals 27
25 Assists 7
0.31 Goals per game 0.42
17 Most goals in a season 14

Of course, there’s no guarantee that both players will follow the same path upon their arrival in England, but it has to be said that this is an area for concern.
The reality is, based on what we’ve seen in Germany, Sesko may not be all that much better than Havertz.
