Nottingham Forest are said to still hold an interest in Brentford forward Yoane Wissa.
Strengthening head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s attacking options is a priority for the Reds this summer. They are closing in on a move for Botafogo front man Igor Jesus, along with his teammates Jair Cunha and Cuiabano, but the club’s recruitment will not stop there.
Wissa was wanted by Forest in January. A bid, reportedly in the region of £18-22 million, was rebuffed by the Bees.
It would come as no surprise to see the Reds try their luck again ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. And according to The Athletic, Forest remain keen on the 28-year-old.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank has already indicated Wissa could leave the Gtech Community Stadium this summer. Last month, he said the club would be open to offers for the striker and teammate Bryan Mbeumo.
It appears the latter will be on the move in the coming weeks, with Manchester United reportedly set to open talks for him. Whether the Bees would be prepared to lose Wissa as well is the key question.
The duo have one year left on their current contracts but there is an option to extend those terms by an additional year. With that in mind, Frank told the BBC last month: "That gives us a little bit of an advantage.
"We'll decide for ourselves if we want to sell them or not. But I've said many times before that we're a selling club. If the right bid comes in, we're open. Of course I'd like to keep them."

During the winter transfer window, Wissa had addressed the speculation about his future. He was asked about Forest’s interest and whether a possible transfer was in progress.
He said at the time: “There is an interest, there is an interest. Possible transfers in progress, I cannot say. But it’s true that there has been interest since this summer. They are having a very good season and I too am continuing my momentum. It's true that for the moment I'm focused on Brentford but we'll see what happens.”
