Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has revealed who Arsene Wenger told him the Gunners should sign this summer.
Mikel Arteta’s side are looking to add a striker, and are in talks to sign RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, who is expected to cost around £70 million.

The Slovenian international scored 13 goals in 33 Bundesliga games for Leipzig last season, and has become one of the most in-demand strikers. Chelsea are also said to be keen on the 22-year-old, but Arsenal are the current front-runners.
However, Sesko isn’t the only striker that Arsenal have been linked to with Viktor Gyokeres and Hugo Ekitike named as potential alternatives to the Slovenian.
Wenger says Arsenal should sign Isak
However, despite Arsenal’s links to Ekitike, Sesko and Gyokeres, it has been revealed that former Gunners manager Arsene Wenger doesn’t want the Gunners to sign any of them.
Former Arsenal keeper David Seaman revealed on Betway‘s Seaman Says Podcast on YouTube that Wenger thinks the Gunners should sign Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak.
Seaman said: “I had a dinner with Arsène Wenger, a charity dinner, about three weeks ago, and I asked him that question. I said, ‘You’re the boss, who would you sign this summer?’ ‘Isak’ he said, as quick as that.”
The Gunners have been linked to signing Isak, however, after Newcastle United managed to qualify for the Champions League, any move for the Sweden international has been written off.
Is Isak actually for sale?
The Newcastle striker is, according to the Magpies, not for sale, so if Arsenal wanted to secure him, they would likely have to persuade Isak himself first to submit a transfer request and move to the Emirates.
However, it is unlikely that Isak can be persuaded away from St James’ Park due to the fact that the Magpies have won silverware this season and are in the Champions League.
He told Swedish outlet Fotbollskanal in March: “There’s not much to say, really. I’ve commented on my situation and my security in Newcastle several times. It’s been written how much love the city and the club, how well I feel there. I’m not thinking about the future.”
“l just want to perform for Newcastle. Now we won the cup, but we want to finish strong and reach the Champions League games. That’s where my focus lies.”
