Bruno Fernandes has decided he will remain at Man Utd and reject a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia.
Manchester United will prioritise player sales after Bruno Fernandes rejected a lucrative move to Al-Hilal in the summer transfer window. The United captain was offered the opportunity to treble his wages in Saudi Arabia in a deal that would have been worth a rumoured £200 million over a three-year deal.
Al-Hilal were also prepared to pay United £100 million for his signature, though the club were adamant they did not want to lose their star player, even for that amount of money. Fernandes was never going to be persuaded to move just for the money though, and wanted to make the decision that was best for himself and his family.
The 30-year-old will now remain at United for the foreseeable future and play a key role in their rebuild under Ruben Amorim. A deal has already been agreed to sign Wolves star Matheus Cunha while talks are start to open over a move for Brentford ace Bryan Mbeumo. It won't be cheap though, and Amorim will look to raise further funds for the summer window without the lucrative windfall they would have got from the sale of Fernandes.

Ruben Amorim expects player sales
Ruben Amorim is set to be proven right after he insisted Bruno Fernandes wanted to stay at Manchester United when he spoke to the press last week. Speaking after the comeback win over Hong Kong, the United head coach was asked if the club could afford to miss out on a £100 million bid for an ageing player.
“Yes. The club can find other ways to make money," he said. "I am the manager, the coach, but sometimes it is the decision of the player. Of course I talk with him, I explain things. I just have that feeling. When you talk to someone you get the feeling if they want to stay. He knows what we are doing. The feeling I have every time I speak with him is that he wants to continue for sure with Manchester United, you never know."
The sales of Rashford and Garnacho would be particularly beneficial to the club because any fee received would count as pure profit from a financial perspective. United will also likely benefit from sell-on clauses this summer and could earn roughly £8.4 million from Alvaro Fernandez Carreras' proposed move to Real Madrid.
