Monday was a busy but exciting day for Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, which was capped off by the message fans in Philly wanted to hear from him.
Barkley was named as the cover athlete of EA Sports' Madden NFL 26 video game as his behind-the-scenes viral clip of his backwards hurdle had every fan excited for the NFL season again. He also spoke to the media about his feelings on being on the cover, as well as a look into the 2025 season.
His response on the Eagles winning back-to-back Super Bowl will have Philadelphia fans ready to run through a wall for the new year.
Barkley's simple response to the Eagles repeating as Super Bowl champs
"We know the recipe."
That's what Barkley said when appearing on NFL Network's The Insiders show Monday night. From NFL.com's Kevin Patra, Barkley elaborated on the winning formula Philadelphia is following from last year.
"We know what it takes. We can't skip any steps to get to where we want to get to. Last OTAs it was the same thing, and we already know how training camp's gonna be and we know how it's gonna be during the season. We know the recipe, and we just got to stick to it and a little bit of luck when that comes in with staying healthy. We do that, with the talent that we have and the coaches that we have, we'll be in a good position."
Barkley had a magical first season in Philadelphia, breaking the NFL record for rushing yards in a regular season and postseason with 2,504. He was also a Pro Bowler, an AP first-team All-Pro selection, and the Offensive Player of the Year. It all ended with him helping the Eagles bring back the Lombardi Trophy.
During the offseason, the Eagles rewarded Barkley with a two-year contract extension worth $41.2 million. The new deal will keep him on the roster through the 2028 season.

There hasn't been an offensive player, or possibly any player, in franchise history who has made the kind of impact Barkley has on the Eagles. His big-play ability and deceptively quick feet have made him one of the best running backs in the NFL.
Entering the 2025 season, the Eagles will need to lean on him again to carry the offense to another Super Bowl. It worked last year, so might as well stick to the game plan.
