Do fans of the Los Angeles Rams want Les Snead and Sean McVay to make a move to add current Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts? Pitts, a former first round pick, has talent, that’s a fact, but he also hasn’t lived up to the draft hype of being a generational talent.
In fact, this past year, Pitts almost blew a touchdown due to what I would call a lack of effort, but fortunately for Pitts, he did score.
Back in late January, Dylan wrote about the Rams moving on from Tyler Higbee, and adding Pitts. More recently, Kenneth wrote about the fact that if Pitts is on the market, then shouldn’t Colby Parkinson be as well?
If Parkinson is on the market, would the Falcons be interested in any type of swap? Would the Rams?
We don’t even know the health of Pitts, so there’s that.
It’s fun to speculate, and it’s even more fun to play general manager, but none of us really know the goings on of a team as well as those inside the organization. That’s how it should be, and if fans on the outside know more than the organization, that’s a problem.
Do you want to see Pitts join the Rams?
I know for a fact some of our readers want nothing to do with Pitts, and some wonder what he’d look like in a Rams jersey? If L.A. pulled the trigger and added Pitts, would you be excited about what he could do in the offense, or would you more lament it as a foolish decision?
Do I think the Rams should add Pitts?
Whereas I think L.A. would be better off trying to work with newly acquired TE Terrance Ferguson, or giving Parkinson another year to show he was a savvy signing, if the Rams did add Pitts, I wouldn’t push back.
The Rams don’t always make the right moves, no team does, but have Snead and McVay not shown they press the right buttons more often than not?
Earlier this year, I wrote about the idea that L.A. had earned the right to draft who they want, and by extension I think fans should have faith in the organization (at this point) to make thoughtful moves, including who they add outside of the draft. Whether fans immediately agree or not, from my vantage point, the Rams have a vision, and they’ve earned their supporters’ trust and patience.
Of course, if the Rams are considering Pitts, might there be another player out there better fit of the Rams time and resources?
It’s June, speculate away.
