Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is set to stay at the club a bit longer after rejecting an offer from Saudi side Al-Hilal this week, per multiple reports.
The move was proposed quickly with the prospect of registering Bruno in time for the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States this summer, and would have brought in a significant transfer fee for United, but perhaps retaining one of the best talents in the team is more important than an extra source of income at this point.

While Bruno would have made generational wealth with Al-Hilal, some reports suggesting his weekly salary would have been around £700k-a-week, the player would have faced spending the remainder of his prime years in a league that is little more than a public relations operation as Saudi Arabia looks to expand its positive face via investment in FIFA and the global game.
There are suggestions that Bruno’s family played a big role in his decision, with his wife not ready to leave Manchester and raise their family in Riyadh.
There was interest a year ago in Bruno from Bayern Munich, but nothing materialized into a concrete offer.
Bruno scored 19 goals in 57 appearances across all competitions last season, and scored crucial goals on the road to the UEFA Europa League Final.
The 30-year-old is under contract at United until 2027, and his contributions have not gone unnoticed by manager Ruben Amorim. Despite playing deeper in midfield, Bruno has still been the driving creative force for United and it would be quite the drop-off in that area should he depart.
