Kevin Durant Trade to New York Knicks More Likely After Recent Report

Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant is set to be moved once again. Since leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Golden State Warriors in 2016, Durant has spent a handful of seasons with each of his new squads.

It seems the future Hall of Fame forward and the Suns have run their course, which comes after an abysmal 36-46 campaign, which saw Phoenix finish as the No. 11 seed in the Western Conference.

Many teams are expected to pursue Durant, as the 36-year-old forward is still an elite talent. The Suns star averaged 26.6 points per game this past season.

The New York Knicks are one team that could get into the mix to land the 15-time All-Star.

Coming off an Eastern Conference Finals appearance, the Knicks have a very strong core and the makings of a near-title contender.

A recent report suggests New York could very well enter the race to land the all-time talent. According to Matt Moore, the Suns are asking for a center in any trade for Durant.

“The Suns have indicated to teams that center is at a premium for them in any KD talks. He might stick around, but their biggest interest is in solving the center position, which has been a disaster since moving on from Ayton," Moore reports.

Other reports suggest that the asking price for Durant is slowly dropping. This makes Karl-Anthony Towns a prime needle-mover in a trade.

To make matters even better, Towns and Suns franchise star Devin Booker happen to be friends -- having been so dating back to their days of playing AAU basketball.

The Knicks have been suggested to move Towns. Mitchell Robinson would then be the full-time starting center, with Durant starting alongside him.

Brunson could be the engine of the offense and Durant could play his uber-efficient style of basketball.

Ideally, the trade could work. Now, whether the Knicks want to swing a trade that limits their title window, likely, to two years, is yet to be seen.

The lineup fit might be better, but New York could very well be reluctant to make such a trade.
