Former Man United defender Gary Neville has approved of the Red Devils’ transfer business so far this summer.
Man United signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves for a fee of £62.5m, and they are now in talks with Brentford to sign Bryan Mbeumo, who has reportedly said yes over a move to Old Trafford despite them not having Champions League football.
Mbeumo made 38 Premier League appearances for the Bees this season, scoring 20 goals and providing seven assists. He was the fourth-highest-scoring player in the Premier League.

With a deal between United and Brentford looking around the £60m mark, United will hope that Mbeumo will be the right signing for Ruben Amorim should he join. He has also been linked to Newcastle and Arsenal.
Gary Neville’s verdict on Man United’s Mbeumo approach
Former Man United star Neville spoke on Sky Sports News about his opinions not only about United’s approach for Mbeumo, but also their signing of Cunha.
He said: “[Man United] need players who are going to come in and hit the ground running. United has become a very difficult place for new signings to operate in the last ten years.
“Cunha and Mbeumo have obviously got Premier League experience. They’ve got plenty of games under their belt. [English football] is not new to them and actually they are the right type.
“When I watch Manchester United wide players, they have to be able to get from box-to-box quickly. They have to be able to run, to travel with and without the ball. Mbeumo and, to be fair Cunha, can do that.”
Neville believes that Mbeumo and Cunha are better options than the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho, as they fit into Amorim’s system better.
“They can both run forward with real intent and purpose.” He said, “a couple of two or three players who are going to leave, they are more ‘jinkers’. Players who, to be fair, play in smaller spaces.
“For anybody who has played at Old Trafford, although the size of the pitch may in terms of metrics not be bigger, it just seems like a big pitch to play on. The width is important.”
