Bournemouth see first official bid for player rejected – Seem to have replacement lined up

Bournemouth have seen an initial offer for Rennes defender Adrien Truffert rejected by the French club.

That’s according to journalist Santi Aouna, who reports that Bournemouth are stepping up their efforts to sign the 23-year-old.

The Cherries are on the hunt for a new left-back, with it widely expected that Milos Kerkez will leave the club this summer. He has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, who want a long-term replacement for Andy Robertson.

A report earlier this year stated that Bournemouth had added Truffert to a list of possible replacements for Kerkez. That was then followed by a report on the 27th May which stated again that Truffert was on their list.

Aouna now follows that up and reports Bournemouth have submitted an official bid for the French full-back. He states that he would be the replacement for Kerkez.

He makes no mention of the nature of the bid, but Aouna insists it has been rejected by Rennes. He also makes no mention of the type of bid that the French side would be willing to accept.

Bournemouth are making moves, though, perhaps preparing themselves to lose Kerkez and ensure that they don’t get left short.
