Botafogo are set to spend big on a replacement for Igor Jesus, who is set to join Nottingham Forest.
That’s [according to GE Globo](https://ge.globo.com/futebol/times/botafogo/noticia/2025/06/03/botafogo-negocia-com-arthur-cabral-para-o-lugar-de-igor-jesus.ghtml), who report that Botafogo are negotiating with Arthur Cabral so that he can replace Nottingham Forest bound Jesus.
The Brazilian side are in advanced talks with the striker, who is at Benfica currently, and he is the main target to replace their current star. His departure to Nottingham Forest is ‘imminent’ and he’s in negotiations with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
The deal for Cabral is worth around €15m. He has been on Botafogo’s radar since last year, when the club’s scouts started to monitor his situation in Europe.
Nottingham Forest’s current bid for Jesus is believed to be at around €20m, so it’s fair to say Botafogo are willing to spend big to replace him. At least a large percentage of the money they might receive from Nottingham Forest.
That deal is seemingly advancing, though, so much so that Botafogo are now pushing ahead with their plans to sign Cabral to ensure they have a replacement lined up once Jesus heads to the Premier League.
