Manchester United are looking to experience a massive shake-up this summer as the club look to offload a significant number of their squad to make space for fresh faces.

Of these set to depart are Jonny Evans who’s hanging up his boots and Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen who’s contracts are ending.

However, they’re just the free departures as United look to cash in on Antony, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and potentially even Rasmus Hojlund, Andre Onana and Casemiro.

For one of them though, their time in the Premier League is over as they clearly announce they want a fresh challenge.

The United star in question is Premier League veteran Christian Eriksen.

The Denmark international has been in the Premier League for 11 seasons, making 310 combined appearances for Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford and Manchester United.

Across his Premier League career, the veteran midfielder scored 55 goals and grabbed 81 assists, only lifting silverware with The Red Devils.

In his three years with the club, Eriksen has helped the side to lift the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, both under Erik ten Hag.

However, in an interview with Danish broadcaster TV 2 Sport, Eriksen commented he wants a move away from England.

When discussing the options on the table, Eriksen commented: “Right now there is nothing. There is interest all around, but there is nothing that I am close to signing.”

However, when speaking about his next steps, he explained: “My focus will be to play international matches and then have a good summer holiday. Then we will see how long the holiday will be.

“I would rather get away from the Premier League. I feel I have had my turn in the Premier League, so I am looking outside the English borders.

“It’s been a great place for me and my family, and we’ve been there for many years. When I moved from Tottenham to Inter, it wasn’t the plan for me to go back to England.

“I’ve been there for three and a half years again since then, so you can never say never, but the priority is for me to leave.”

Previously the 33-year-old has been linked with re-joining his former club Ajax, however as Eriksen reports there’s several options for him, his next steps will surely be taken carefully.
