Liverpool’s summer transfer business is already very exciting.
Jeremie Frimpong is already a Liverpool player, while Milos Kerkez is keen to join the Reds.
On top of that, there’s been a lot of talk about Florian Wirtz coming to Liverpool in what could be a British-record deal.
Meanwhile, Liverpool may also be in the market for a new striker.
Darwin Nunez is set to leave Liverpool, and if the Uruguayan does indeed depart, he’ll need replacing.
Liverpool are in talks to sign Hugo Ekitike, and according to Matt Law, speaking on the London is Blue Podcast, people in football believe Ekitike could become a star.

Hugo Ekitike could be the next Alexander Isak
According to Law, those within football believe Hugo Ekitike could well end up being the next Alexander Isak.
Isak is the best striker in the world according to some, so this is an exciting claim to say the least.
“So Ekitike, they (Chelsea) definitely like. I think there’s a lot of people in football who are hopeful and thinking that Ekitike might have a similar development path to Isak.
They see him as a similar type of striker who could be what Isak was when he sort of joined Newcastle or just a little bit before that. They’re talking a lot of money, though, for him. I mean, I saw Ekitike a couple of times against Tottenham in the Europa League this season.
Even though he scored in the first game, I wouldn’t have said he’s a 100 million pound striker for me. It might be that that’s just bluff from Eintracht and that they don’t get anywhere near. But I’d be a bit worried about paying 100 million for him.”
Hugo Ekitike compared to Alexander Isak aged 22
Ekitike could be on the same trajectory as Isak, and that is very exciting to say the least.
Of course, development is never linear, and there’s no saying that Ekitike will improve the same way Isak has into his mid-20s.
However, Ekitike has laid some excellent foundations, and, in a lot of ways, he’s ahead of where Isak was at the same age.

At the age of 22, Isak wasn’t lighting La Liga up, but Ekitike is playing a starring role over in Germany at the moment.
If Ekitike can continue to grow and improve, there’s no reason why he can’t become one of the best around.
Liverpool fans should certainly be excited by this rumour.
