Insider Says Knicks Could Make Major Roster Move In Offseason

The New York Knicks wanted to go all the way to the NBA Finals this year, and, instead, they came up short against the Indiana Pacers.

Now they have a bunch of questions about what will happen and how they will look next season and beyond.

According to Shams Charania, the team is thinking about making a major adjustment in the offseason.

“I’m told the Knicks have internal meetings this week to evaluate everything from the roster, different changes they could make around everything, but especially the roster… Whether it’s a landmark player that you could bring in there or definitely depth on that bench,” Charania said, via Legion Hoops.

So, it sounds like the team could go in multiple directions.

What constitutes a “landmark player,” and who could the Knicks be looking at?

Is it someone with the pedigree and career of Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is rumored to be possibly leaving the Milwaukee Bucks this summer?

Or perhaps the Knicks are thinking of another A-lister, such as Kevin Durant.

Charania also noted that they could be bringing depth to the bench, something the Knicks definitely need.

Clearly, they have a few things they have to work out and need to weigh their options.

But the bottom line is that the Knicks are looking to change in the next few months.

Fans love the team they have now, but the current roster wasn’t enough to get them to compete for a championship.

What will help them more: a landmark player or depth on the bench?

That is the biggest question the front office is currently asking.
