Newcastle United want to sign Brighton superstar Joao Pedro in a blockbuster transfer this summer, according to Sky Sports News.
The Magpies are set to be busy in the transfer market this summer after reaching the Champions League for the 2025/26 season, while also ending their 70-year trophy drought by claiming the Carabao Cup earlier this year.
The club are no longer restricted by any serious PSR and FFP issues too and are now expected to spend big money strengthening the squad, and Pedro has emerged as a top target.

The young Brazilian is expected to leave the club this summer after a disciplinary issue, caused by a fall-out in training with defender Jan Paul Van Hecke, which saw him dropped from the squad for the last two games of the season.
According to Sky Sports, Pedro has plenty of suitors across Europe and also in the Premier League, but would like to be the first-choice striker at whichever club he joins.
That could be an issue at St James' Park, with Alexander Isak the main man in the number nine position and not expected to leave this summer following the team's qualification for the Champions League despite interest from Liverpool and Arsenal.
Reports recently suggested that Brighton may demand £100m for the Brazilian, but Newcastle will be hopeful of paying far less than that to bring him in. They will also lean on captain Bruno Guimaraes' relationship with the 24-year-old, who has been dubbed a 'superstar', with the two regarded as being very close friends off the pitch.
