LeBron James is speaking out about mental health
The NBA star wrote on his Instagram Stories that therapy has showed him "how to open up"
The Los Angeles Lakers veteran has been an outspoken proponent of self-care
LeBron James is not sweating the small stuff!
While on vacation during the offseason, the NBA star shared his current philosophy on taking care of his mental health on Monday, June 2.
“Therapy showed me how to open up!” James, 40, wrote on his Instagram Stories. “It also showed me I don’t give a F😤”
The father of three followed up his post with an image of a serene oceanfront golf course where he was playing a round, and clips of himself driving a golf cart and lining up a putt.

James has had time to contemplate his place in it all, following his 22nd year in the league.
The basketball icon has been on a forced vacation since the Minnesota Timberwolves eliminated the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the playoffs on May 1.

The NBA veteran has been outspoken in the past about the importance of self-care, and has shown his support of others on their own journeys.
When his former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Kevin Love shared his own battle with anxiety in 2018, James made sure to reach out.
“It was a special moment for me,” Love said about James’ response, while on the Today show at the time. “We sat towards the end of the bus. He kind of said, ‘Hey, do you have a moment?’ He stopped me, shook my hand, looked me in the eye, and said, ‘You helped a lot of people today. It’s important.’ ”
“That was super powerful for me,” Love added, of James’ words. “Not only is he the best athlete in the world, the best basketball player in the world, but his influence and having my back with that was super important to me.”
The Lakers star has not announced whether he will return for what would be a league-record 23rd season, which comes on the heels of an eventful year in which he made history playing with his son Bronny, and benefited from the blockbuster-trade arrival of Luka Dončić.
