Robert Lewandowski has been asked for his verdict on [Joan Garcia amid speculation the Espanyol goalkeeper will move to Barcelona this summer](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/6/3/24441930/joan-garcia-one-step-away-from-joining-barcelona).
The Poland international did have some praise for Garcia but warned the potential new arrival he faces a completely different challenge at Barca.
> “If we talk about his season, it’s been good; he’s a very good goalkeeper,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
>
> “But I think he’s a goalkeeper for a team that has 10 chances in a game and can save 8 or 9, whereas at Barcelona, you have one or two in a game and you have to save them.”
Lewandowski was also asked about Wojciech Szczęsny and whether he will stay on but was giving nothing away.
> “After the last game, I didn’t want to talk to Tek or the club,” he explained.
>
> “I think the club is perfectly looking for a solution. I don’t know what direction they want to go, but I hope Tek will be with us next season.”
[Szczesny has reportedly accepted Barca’s contract extension](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/5/27/24438032/wojciech-szczesny-set-to-stay-at-barcelona-and-accept-contract-renewal-offer), meaning he will be part of the squad next season along with Marc-Andre ter Stegen and, potentially, Garcia as well.
