The New York Knicks were wowing their fans during the playoffs until they weren’t.
Their series against the Indiana Pacers left a bad taste in the mouths of many, and people are asking if changes are needed in the Big Apple.
Speaking on WFAN Sports Radio, Gregg Giannotti went after Karl-Anthony Towns, saying that he simply wasn’t playing like he was supposed to.
“The biggest issue the Knicks have going forward to get to the next level is the fact that they waited, and waited, and waited to go all in on a couple of guys, and the biggest one being Karl-Anthony Towns. They went and they traded for him, and he’s making $50 million a year, and at the core, he’s a loser. That is their biggest problem. The guy is a loser. He’s a losing player. He complains. He is soft. That is their biggest issue. The fact that they thought this Towns thing was going to work better than it did, and it hasn’t,” Giannotti said.

The addition of Towns to the Knicks hasn’t worked, according to Giannotti, at least not yet.
That doesn’t mean things won’t be much better next season, and Towns might make Giannotti and others happy in the years ahead.
Towns certainly brought a lot to the team this season, and a lot of fans were completely sold on him.
But there is no doubt that he does complain on the court often, and certain people are unhappy with some of his decisions in games, mistakes that deeply hurt the Knicks.
With that being said, what are the chances of the Knicks moving on from Towns?
They put a lot of money and effort into acquiring him, and they likely won’t part ways with him after just one season.
Instead, they know that Towns might be imperfect and might have his problems, but he could also be a crucial part of the lineup for years to come.
