The San Antonio Spurs missed the playoffs this year for the sixth straight season. They went 34-48 and finished in 13th place in the Western Conference standings.
NBA legend Gregg Popovich is no longer coaching the Spurs. He has moved into a front office role following his stroke in November.
Mitch Johnson was named the new head coach of San Antonio in May. He was the interim coach this year.
The Spurs made a blockbuster trade this season by acquiring All-Star point guard De'Aaron Fox from the Sacramento Kings. Fox averaged 19.7 points and 6.8 assists in 17 games with San Antonio before undergoing season-ending left pinkie surgery.

The 27-year-old Fox is eligible to sign an extension with the Spurs this offseason and ESPN's Bobby Marks expects San Antonio to give the lefty a massive four-year, $229 million contract.
"Fox is eligible to agree to an extension after the Finals conclude but is restricted on the amount of years and total value," Marks wrote. "The three-year, $140.2 million extension increases to four-years, $229 million starting on Aug. 3.

Fox was the fifth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. He has career averages of 21.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists with the Kings and Spurs.
San Antonio appears to have a bright future with Fox and Victor Wembanyama leading the way. It will be fascinating to see if Fox and Wembanyama can lead the Spurs back to the playoffs next season for the first time since 2019.
