Everton fans’ frustrations are continuing to grow larger as Manchester City continue in their legal battle.

The Toffees’ faithful haven’t forgotten the Premier League torment they faced with Farhad Moshiri at the helm.

The financial mismanagement of the Goodison Park club ended with two points deductions and so nearly resulted in relegation to the Championship.

It felt to fans that the league organisers had come to a conclusion very quickly and used the L4 faithful as an example to the rest of the division.

With that being said, punishment against Manchester City’s 115 charges is still in the pipeline, with Evertonians having every right to be raging.

There is no doubt that the issues with finances took a toll on the work of Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell throughout their spell in charge.

Although the currently unemployed head coach did an excellent job of keeping his side in the Premier League, the frustration was still palpable in L4.

This saw supporters hold up pink banners in a visual protest against the Premier League, and their issues haven’t truly been resolved.

This comes as Manchester City continue to hold off from being handed a punishment for their charges with 180 days now passed since the independent commission began considering their verdict.

In his weekly Daily Mail column (3 June), Ian Herbert has shared his belief that the longer this goes on, the likelihood of any punishment will be less.

He said: “The expanse of time leads me to conclude City are going to win this one. No points deduction. No relegation.”

Considering the Citizens had emails leaked featuring so-called “cosy promises” of £12million extra from “alternative sources”, it feels to many as if this should be an open and shut case.

That clearly isn’t the case and now the potential of any points deduction, in a similar vein to Everton, is beginning to fade, much to the frustration of the Goodison faithful.

Manchester City may avoid Premier League points deduction

At this point, any punishment for Pep Guardiola’s side will have little impact on the Toffees, but it would feel just if they were to receive a points deduction.

After dealing with such huge problems under Moshiri, relying on a huge turn of form under Dyche to stay up, a club in the Premier League then avoiding a similar fate would feel unfair, especially with 115 charges on the line.

It will certainly be interesting to see how soon a verdict comes in and what that could mean for City and their chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak.

The L4 club will continue to focus on themselves and their move into the Hill Dickinson Stadium ahead of the new campaign of Premier League action.
