Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Victor Osimhen, Jamie Gittens and Morgan Rodgers…
CHELSEA have been advised to send Jadon Sancho back to Manchester United by former Stamford Bridge defender Frank Sinclair, and told to make a move to sign Aston Villa star Morgan Rodgers.
Sancho scored five goals and made four assists during his loan spell at Chelsea after being banished by former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, and Chelsea agreed to sign Sancho permanently for around £25m when they signed him on loan from Manchester United last summer.
However, they are able to cancel the agreement by paying their Premier League rivals £5m in compensation and reports suggest that remains a possibility, as Manchester United determine whether to give him another shot or not.
The England international has a stunning tally of 15 goals and 14 assists in his 53 appearances for Aston Villa this season, so it’s unsurprising that he’s attracting interest from elsewhere.
The 22-year-old has proven himself worthy of joining most elite European clubs, as his performances have stepped up a level when he’s featured against top opposition. And Sinclair has opened up and claimed that Chelsea should make a move for Rodgers.
‘I like Morgan Rogers at Aston Villa, Chelsea need back-up on the left-hand side of the pitch in the forward positions,’ Sinclair told the Daily Express
‘There is definite need to add more established quality to this young squad.
‘Chelsea got Champions League football, which was the aim, but now if they want to challenge for the Premier League then they need more strength in depth, more established players that can ensure Chelsea can be more consistent during the season.’
Aston Villa are at risk of losing Rogers this summer amid interest from elsewhere, with it suggested that they may need to sell valuable assets to avoid a breach of Profit and Sustainability regulations.
icfootballnews Says…
Rodgers is brilliant, he is powerful on the ball and is a real threat for any manager, Chelsea would be lucky to get the player. But we just cant see him leaving Aston Villa for CHELSEA, he is happy and unless something happens, the club wont want to lose one of the clubs best players.
CHELSEA READY TO SIGN GITTENS
There has been some fresh reports which have claimed that CHELSEA have contacted Borussia Dortmund about a possible deal for one of the clubs star players, Jamie Gittens.
Now Chelsea finished the season very well they got champions League football, and they won a European trophy, which doesn’t come around very often. So Enzo Maresca is looking the splash some money improve the squad.
He has already acquired the services of Liam Delap, But there is always room for growth at CHELSEA – and that means the club will continue to seek players that will come in, sign massive contracts and hopefully develop into the stars of the future, and now the Blues have their eyes on their next transfer target,
While no decisions have been made about his immediate future, Chelsea is said to have expressed a concrete interest in getting a potential deal done for Gittens over the coming weeks, but could face the likes of Real Madrid and Liverpool for the lads signature.
Reports on the Football. London website have claimed that Chelsea have already been in contact with Dortmund about a possible deal for Gittens, who expressed an interest in leaving the club during the January window.
Amid the speculation – reporter Iomie Stanley has claimed that it is not the right time for the lad to leave Dortmund, he told icfootballnews: ‘Gittens is showing the kind of potential that will take him far in the game, he is a real star of the future.
However, despite the fact the Premier League is the dream destination for alot of young stars, despite the fact he would get a massive wage from coming to England and despite the fact he could join one of the big boys, he is not ready.’
‘We have seen so many young talents come to the Premier League in recent seasons and get forgotten about, alot of those stars have signed for CHELSEA , so right now the lad should stay put.
‘Of course Dortmund will be tempted by the money – but the right thing to do for Gittens is stay put, develop over the next few seasons and then look for that big move if needed.’
SHOCK OSIMHEN MESSAGE SENT
CHELSEA have been told they should have signed Manchester United target Victor Osimhen from Napoli instead of Liam Delap to solve their striker woes, as the Ipswich striker makes the move to London.
Chelsea have been spending money for fun over the last few transfer windows, have signed some quality players, and have signed some stars that are not good enough to play on a regular basis, but they are still lacking a quality striker.
Nicolas Jackson works hard for Enzo Maresca and does put in the good performances every now and then, but many Blues fans were hoping that a new striker was going to make the move to London in the January window, and Osimhen was a player linked with a move to the Blues.
Obviously Chelsea didnt even make a move for Osimhen and many believed that Chelsea would make a move for the Nigerian star this summer, but the Blues have made the decision to bring Delap to the club in a deal worth £30 million.
But ex-Chelsea stars Frank Leboeuf and William Gallas fear their former club picked the wrong striker and instead should have signed Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen, who came close to joining Chelsea last summer, scored 37 goals in 41 appearances during his loan spell at Galatasaray. He also boasted a superb record for Napoli before being exiled by Antonio Conte
Asked whether he was excited by the arrival of Delap at Chelsea, Leboeuf told ESPN: ‘I am, I am. I don’t know what’s going to happen with him but we need a striker, we desperately need a striker.
‘He’s a great, great player. Will he fit into Enzo Maresca’s system? Hopefully yes. He had a very good season. But I like Osimhen.’
Gallas, meanwhile, told Prime Casino: ‘Chelsea have been linked with a lot of different strikers. You’ve got the boy Liam Delap, he’s had a great debut season in the Premier League and he has a big future.
‘Other names like [Viktor] Gyokeres and [Benjamin] Sesko have been putting in good performances for their respective clubs on the continent.
‘But I would be signing Osimhen, all day long, everyday, twice on Sunday! I know what he can do, I know what he can bring to the CHELSEA squad.
‘I think he’d be perfect for the wingers there, because they aren’t the kind that just send in crosses. They come inside and shoot, or look for a pas
