**There will be a few Newcastle United players fearing for their future right now as contracts tick down into their final month.**
Callum Wilson hasn't been offered a new contract, although he has been told he can stay under an incentive-based deal, but as the days pass by, it's looking more and more likely he will move on.
Mark Gillespie and John Ruddy made up two-fifths of Newcastle's congested goalkeeper department this season, which is in dire need of a reshuffle.
It seems that one of those issues has already been resolved, according to [The Chronicle.](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-axe-dressing-room-31779044)

John Ruddy's expected to leave Newcastle next month
John Ruddy is set to be released by Newcastle United
----------------------------------------------------
The 38-year-old veteran, John Ruddy, who came in last season to help with goalkeeper training, found himself on the bench 11 times for Newcastle during the last campaign, sometimes, annoyingly as one of two goalkeepers on the bench.
And while Eddie Howe has hailed Ruddy as being 'brilliant' behind the scenes, it looks as though his time at Newcastle will end when his contract expires at the end of the month.
Ruddy was signed on a one-year deal, and it now looks as though that is all he will get.
The goalkeeper situation is starting to look a little clearer
-------------------------------------------------------------
Eddie Howe had previously praised John Ruddy and the rest of his goalkeeping contingent on their professionalism under strange circumstances.
> "We will take a view on that. The goalkeeper situation has been slightly difficult this year."We have a high number of goalkeepers, which probably wasn't ideal. Those players have handled that situation very, very well. It's not easy. They have been really good professionals, all of them.
>
> "They have created a really good team network and trained really well. They have helped whoever has been playing to be at their best for match day. I am full of compliments for them. But let's wait and see."
That's one down, we expect at least two more to go this summer. Odysseas Vlachodimos was never wanted by Howe, so we expect he will be moved on if possible, and Martin Dubravka has had a foot out of the door since Nick Pope arrived.
