United States President Donald Trump has been busy since returning to the Oval Office. Trump has drawn both tremendous amounts of support and criticism for testing the limits of his executive power in his second term.
However, the President hasn’t stopped loving sports, and even became the first sitting President to attend the Super Bowl in February. Now, Trump is back in NFL news, as he’s been welcomed into an NFL franchise.
Former Steelers great Rocky Bleier presented Trump with a number 47 Steelers jersey over the weekend, while the President gave a speech in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania.
“I have the honor of making you an honorary Steeler,” Bleier said, according to TribLive.
Fans reacted to Bleier’s statement on social media.
“Elon Musk is a fan of the Steelers. We are a legendary team,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Since when is Rocky the spokesperson for the Steelers. Man I really respected with serving his country and overcoming half his foot blown off. Yet there he stands with captain bone spurs himself. War hero and draft dodger. I can’t wait to see Aaron Rodgers sign,” another fan added.
“It puzzles me that Rocky fought and was wounded in Vietnam and supports a draft dodger. I mean somebody died in trumps place when he and Dr’s lied to get him deferred. Mason also ruined any chance of being successful here. He will be gone next year. Bring on Howard or Rodgers,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Trump attends more Steelers games this season.
