Manchester City endured a really poor season in 2024/25 – and the club are already making moves to atone next term.
Manchester City ended up finishing third behind Arsenal and champions Liverpool, and lost the Champions League final to Crystal Palace.

Pep Guardiola now needs to oversee a rebuild, which commenced in January and will now continue in the summer.
As many as seven players could leave Manchester City, but we’re already seeing some exciting links to players such as Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Rayan Cherki, and the hope is that City can come out all guns blazing in 2025/26.

Thankfully for City, Rodri will be back fit and available for the start of the 2025/26 campaign.

Of course, he returned to action against Bournemouth last month, but the Spaniard will be raring to go in a few months, especially after getting minutes at the Club World Cup.
He is a hugely important player for City, as we all know, and hopefully his return, plus a few new faces, can spark City back into life.
Players like Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva also need to rediscover their mojo.
With City seemingly making some early moves in the transfer window, fans are actually getting fairly excited about the potential response.
But Gary Neville still does not see City winning the title next season.
Dropping an early prediction in a new video on the US Overlap YouTube channel, he said: “I’ve got to go Arsenal again, I’ve got to double down, haven’t I?
“I’ve backed them the last two seasons. The last two seasons, they finished second, the last three seasons actually. But I didn’t back them in the first season, I backed City. But I backed them the last two, I’m going to stick with them.”
Man City could be fearsome in 2025/26
The 2024/25 season was highly disappointing for everyone concerned with City, and there will now be a big response.
We’re already seeing the club make moves for new players, and the transfer window has only just opened.

Khaldoon Al Mubarak gave a rather bullish end-of-season interview and spoke about the mistakes City made last summer, and has insisted those same mistakes will not be repeated.
Pep Guardiola will no doubt light a fire beneath his players ahead of the 2025/26 season and challenge them to reclaim the top prize.
It will, of course, not be easy. Liverpool are already spending big, and Arsenal could threaten if they sign a top number nine.
But City will surely carry the hurt of 2024/25 into the new season and use it as fuel, in what is a scary prospect for their title rivals.
